Welcome

The Mount Olive Township Schools have a long tradition of providing an outstanding education to school-aged children. Building upon this tradition, the Mount Olive schools have undertaken a comprehensive, strategic effort to dramatically "raise the bar” for student learning outcomes. The 2010 academic results proved to be very encouraging. The data indicated that all Mount Olive Schools had surged forward and were on track to become one of Morris County's top ten academic performers.

To guide the continuing effort, the Mount Olive Board of Education adopted a SIX Year Plan to boost “active” forms of learning, take advantage of economic efficiencies, and produce imaginative student performances. The Plan’s five major improvement initiatives included a whole new school design that was skillfully crafted by over 100 community members (the new design is posted on this site). The Plan offers a template for the schools of Mount Olive to take the lead in the development and cultivation of strong character, curiosity, integrity, leadership, perseverance, and academic performance.

With a superior school staff, a “pro-education” community, great kids, and few barriers, we expect nothing but the best!  All of us associated with the Mount Olive Schools pledge to never underestimate our students. Our schooling program is built on the notion that students are capable of scaling vastly greater heights than most believe. As a result, our program will produce absolute results.

On May 24, 2012, Mt. Olive Middle School will be presented with the National School Change Award.  This prestigious award is bestowed each year upon six schools across the United States that have significantly improved for the better.  This is the only award of its kind.  In order to provide an opportunity for all students to participate in the award presentation, one ceremony will be held at 2:00pm and another will be conducted prior to the Sixth Grade Band and Chorus Concert at 7:00pm.  Lew Smith, Director of the National Principals’ Leadership Institute, will present the award during both ceremonies.
